What is Static post?

A static post is a security assignment where a guard remains at one designated location for the whole shift, such as a lobby desk, gatehouse, or entrance, rather than moving between sites.

Also called: static guard, fixed post, stationary guard.

What does a static post involve?

  • Access control: checking credentials and logging entry and exit
  • Reception duties at a lobby or front desk
  • CCTV and alarm monitoring from the post
  • Interior or perimeter rounds at set intervals
  • First response to incidents and escalation to the client or emergency services
